Sports Premium
The Government have committed to funding schools to support the provision of PE/Sport. Each school will receive £16,000 plus an additional £10 per pupil each year. This will be changing in 2027.
Sports Premium Priorities and Impact 2025/2026
1. Increasing Staff Confidence, Knowledge and Skills
Specialist sports coaches have worked alongside staff to deliver high-quality PE lessons, model effective practice and improve teacher confidence. Staff subject knowledge has increased so that they may in turn start to provide additional sessions for the children through clubs or opportunities such as the Minnis Mile and external marathon events.
2. Increasing Engagement in Regular Physical Activity
Forest School sessions have provided regular opportunities for all pupils to take part in active outdoor learning. Pupils have developed physical skills, teamwork, resilience and confidence while increasing overall activity levels. Farm School offers physical therapeutic experiences.
3. Raising the Profile of PE and Sport
Physical activity remains a significant part of school life through PE lessons, Forest School, sporting events and celebration of achievements. This has promoted positive attitudes towards healthy lifestyles and wellbeing.
4. Broadening Sporting Experiences
Funding for clubs, equipment and enrichment opportunities has enabled pupils to experience a wider range of activities and increased participation amongst different pupil groups. Forest school club has proven to be as popular as our formal sports club
5. Participation in Competitive Sport
District sports competitions and educational visits such as Hindleap Warren have enabled pupils to represent the school, develop sportsmanship, teamwork and resilience, and participate in competitive activities.
